I've had my system for 6 months and just replaced the batteries in the motion detectors. I assume that utilizing superior top quality batteries than those provided will mean altering them closer to once a year. Not bad at all, given that I do not have to run any wires to these places.
I opted not to use the window/door sensors, as they look somewhat tacky in my opinion. As an alternative, I got a couple additional motion detectors to deliver full coverage of my house. The sensors are somewhat adjustable. On the default setting, they do pick up my four pound dog.
In the past 6 months, I have not had any false alarms where I couldn't establish the cause. There have been a variety of days exactly where I forgot to disengage the program and walked right by way of the motion detection field. Certainly, I cannot blame that on the process.
Overall, I'd say this is an stunning program for the value. The control pad looks kinda cheap, so I did not prominently display it in my home. It is in a closet. The motion detectors are particularly compact and unobtrusive. I've told family and buddies that I have the alarm program and most of them didn't have any concept, as the detectors blend in pretty well.
Hi absolutely everyone, i ordered the Skylink SC-100W (newer model) and received mine two days ago. I set it up yesterday. Due to the fact the method comes pre-set it only took me 30 minutes. The only thing i had to alter was the passcode. The motion detector alone would have been adequate for me as that point is as sharp as a needle. Due to the fact i have no pets and no children i have mine on high and it is terrific. The window/door sensors took a bit of playing around with but they are operating fine (for now). I have my alarm on "Chime" mode because the siren is extremely loud, my ears were ringing all night soon after i had tested it. However i have great comfort being aware of i can use the panic button on my keychain to activate the siren if i really feel i'm in danger. It's so loud that my neighbours will hear it and will be calling 911 in no time. I had the alarm on all night and had no false alarms. It has only been 1 night but i am fairly pleased with the system. I'm told this a newer model, i am not very certain how it differs from the Skylink SC 100 Deluxe Kit. If anyone could tell me the distinction that would be awesome. All in all i am especially pleased with the method and i am giving it four stars considering of how sharp the motion sensor is and due to the fact the siren is highly loud. I sleep nicely at night....especially nicely.
