I have read all the security critiques on Amazon from all the different security MFG's. Skylink, GE, Bulldog Security etc. I was impressed that the reviews on this product did not mention something about poor quality, poor range and so on. I initial known as the AAS security individuals and was impressed that over the telephone they could answer all my concerns. I would like to let you know that the primary programmer/ auto dialer is the similar on all their units from AAS100 to AAS600 systems. The only difference is the quantity of door sensors, motion detectors, sirens and so on and so on. They have so quite a few extra add on's for their security program it is outstanding, such as remote wireless sirens, smoke detectors, gas detectors, water detectors and far more and far more. So I ordered a custom unit from them: 1 main programmer/dialer, 1 remote siren and 3 motion detectors and two remote key pods. I setup the program on my kitchen table in about 1/two an hour. The siren is loud, considering that I bought the separate wireless siren unit it can be placed anyplace you have an AC outlet. The motion detectors perform stunning. Not also sensitive but operate at lengthy distances. I put one on the motion detectors in my den and it looks into my kitchen and will detect you if you walk at the end of the kitchen 40ft away.The most important programmer has built in battery backup. I have a 3000 sq ft residence and I do not know where to put the 3rd detector, the other 2 detectors cover my complete very first floor. I've only had it for a week but I am impressed. You have the potential to dial into this process and listen to what is happening, works with my blackberry cellphone. You can set the exit and entrance times and lots of much more great programming tricks that you do not come across in other systems.This security program with my Avaak Vue wireless cameras are great. UPDATE:
The technique is good. No challenges. I use VOIP Vonage for my household telephone and it functions amazing on out going alerts from the AAS 100 security technique, but on incoming calls the Vonage answering service will answer and I can't dial into the AAS 100. SO....I bought the VOIP Grandstream Handystream 286 adapter from Amazon went to CallCentric and signed up for their VOIP phone . Its best for a alarm technique considering that it will dial out and I can now call in to my alarm. Expense? $1.95 per month. Fantastic! If any one finds a better VOIP supply let me know!
Second update:
Located out my dog can set off the motion detectors. No issue, raised the pointing angle and now my pug does not set off the alarm. My wife and I set it each time we go out. Even with the dog at property. Love this technique.
Third update Feb 2011:
System still operating awesome. Had to replace the 9V batteries for two of the motion detectors, so I would say they last about 6 months. I replaced the batteries on all the units anyway. Painless to do, and I did not have to reprogram any of them. Amazon has some superb deals on 9V Alkaline batteries. I also dropped my VOIP CallCentric and I just use the Vonage VOIP. No need to have for two systems, I never had to dial into the security method, no false alarms!
Had this alarm program for the final two months. Also, bought the GSM Cellular Module, considering I don't have a land-line.
Following being broken into my preceding place, an alarm process was a should have for our new apartment household. Just before moving in, I began the installation. At 1st, I was concerned with the directions which primarily consisted of a photograph instance, but the installation was a breeze. The door alarms are straight forward to mount and based on a flawless technologies.
